Dear friends,
if you are one of those members who always wanted to meet your friends (school / college) and waiting for your educational institute to initiate/conduct "Alumni Association", please read on this.
As you all know, i am one of those members who are blessed to be citizens of Patti Veeran Patti (PVP).
In PVP, we do have very good schools.
ALL the members of "1966-67 batch of SSLC" from "N.S.V.V. Boys Higher Secondary School", PVP have been meeting on last Sunday of every year.
I am sure all of us used to immediately start thinking any one of the below
1) it may be an initiative from the school
2) all / most of them are using smart phone with whatsapp
3) all / most of them have internet at home and using Facebook
4) all of them had always been in the same village since their schooling
5) they might have been in contact with each other since 1966-67
If you have thought so, sorry! they are not meeting your expectation!!!
Just 2 members of that group have started trying for a get together since early 2008 (after 41 years from completion of their SSLC !!!) and made it happen on 28/Dec/2008 as a first time.
They were able to reach out to 45 members of their batch (out of 70, 14 were not alive at that time and remaining 11 could not be contacted). Obviously, all those 45 have ensured to be present for the meet.
The meet happened in the SAME CLASS ROOM, where they have studied their SSLC. The headmaster and all staff members have extended their support. Got informed that headmaster Mr.Rajaguru have given a nice nice speech. Staff members of 1966-67 were present too! Mr.Vijaya Rajan who was the headmaster of 1966-67 also have participated the event and have remembered all the students!
Don't we all - people who are connected through facebook / whatsapp - think we can do such meet very easily? Let us try to get connected with our friends of earlier days. All the best!!!
